30# into thin air

Describe specific connections between both Into Thin Air and Into the Wild and your experiences in the many aspects of MSB.

The conection between both into thin are and into the wild is that in both books they go through extreme experiences to follow there dreams and pasion. and they are both examples of dedication and drive and all the things it would take to make there experiences posible. how this all comes back to connect to my expeince in working with the msb is that i choose a question that i wanted to answer and that i became pasionet about and its on a issue that i would like to be apart of the positive change. also i was determand to finish my project just like they were determand to do what they did.

#29 into thin air final draft

Analyze how specific mental and emotional qualities make a person fit to successfully climb Everest, but also possibly lead to disaster?

After reading " Into Thin air" I believe one would need a balance of mental and emotional qualities to ensure ones safe trip up the mountain, Everest. To much of anything is never good. you would need to be confident in yourself but not over confident because that could lead to death. other possible metal and emotional qualities that could lead to a disaster is trusting you teammates ,loyalty among teammates, arrogance, self reliance, believing that you can beat nature or that it can be tamed and thinking that since you paid so much money for a guide you will be taken up to the mountain top safely. But i believe that that this book shows moments that if there was a balance of most of these qualities it would end in a success.

confidence and dedication are very important to give you the strength to over come the conditions, difficulty of the climb and the misery one must go through when climbing Everest. but to ensure that you are safe and have the best experience possible one must not be over confident and stop when your body is telling you this is the end for me. In the book alot of climbers were forced to turn around right before they made it to the top because of the condition they were already in. these people are the ones with the balance of both confidence and dedication but they are not over confident and keep trying to climb when they know they can not make it any further. halls believes that the decision to turn back was more impressive than reaching the summit would have been. i think so to because these people are the ones who know there limits.

This brings me to the topic of arrogance. this is one of the topics that would always end in a disaster. The guide business is based off that. They are so arrogant and believe they can get any fit person up the mountain and this causes the clients to lower their guards and not really understand all the risks that go along with climbing Everest. Fischer even thinks that he has "built a yellow brick road to the summit" this frame of mind is good to get clients but its very bad because you can not control or tam nature. you cant avoid all the storms or avalanches because they can strike with out warning and it wouldn't matter how fit you are.

it is very important that you trust your teammates "one climbers action can affect the welfare of the entire team" krakaurs does not really trust his teammates because he believes they are not very experienced but when one is in trouble someone must help them and this can help to make the trip a successful one or it can lead to a disaster. This is also on the lines of loyalty this means that one would risk there own life's to help another and through out the journey you saw that some were very loyal and it lead them to there own death for example when hall was loyal to Hansen he wouldn't leave Hansen on the summit and then he died. that was to loyal and sometimes for your own safety you need to leave someone so if there was a balance i think there would not be so many deaths from loyalty.

Self reliance is a bad and good thing as you can see krakauer made it to the top and back and he was relied on him self through out the book because of lack of trust he would sometimes go ahead of the group and stray away. which made him rely on his own climbing experience. but him being alone all the time in solitude can be bad because alot of people died of solitude. so if you have a balance it could be very good because you can rely on your self but at the same time be close enough for help.

overall a balance of these quality are mostly needed to successful climb everst. but all in all NO one can really say what will make it successful because you are dealing with nature and anything could happen at anytime even if you have a certain mindset nature can never be tamed or predicted.

Analyze how specific mental and emotional qualities make a person fit to successfully climb Everest, but also possibly lead to disaster
mental and emotional qualities play a huge role in climbing everest becuase you
For someone to be able to do something that is very diffucult such as climb Everest. They need to first off be in the right state of mind becuase when your at high altitudes your metal state changes. if you are already in a bad emotional and metal state of mind it becomes very diffucult to go on. Along with the right state of mind you need to have confidence That you have the ablity so achieve your goal and make it to the top. if you lack confience you are more likly to give up when the journy to the top gets really hard. self control is another quality you would need to climb everest. when I say self control I mean that you are going at the right pace. also that you know your own limits, that your not trying to prove you are better then someone else at climbing or even showing that you can breath with out an oxegen tank at a very high altitude because that can lead to your death.

I think sometimes if you are over confiedent and have the mental frame of mind that you can do anything, such as be stronger then nature, or that mind set were you believe since you have done somthing like this before you can do anything. Then this can lead to a horribe disaster. I think if you have a balence of confidence and you know that you are dealing with nature. This would mean you know that it is capable of doing anything or haveing a strom at anytime.

I need to add evidence and expand on more ideas

work on the structure

talk about more mental and emotional aspects

make sure thesis is clear and answers the question

The great gatsby

F.Scott Fitzgerald the writer of the book "The Great Gatsby" takes the reader into the roaring 20s and criticizes the idea of what the American dream is. He does this by highlighting the corruption that exists with in American dream. such as the materialism, moral values, lost of one self and the utter feeling of emptiness. I believe Fitzgerald displays this criticism in a very accurate way.

Gatsby the character in the book has the good looks, the wealth, popularity, flashy parties. Hes the smooth guy that always knows what to do and what to say. He is the idea of the American dream. But what no one knows is that hes not really Gatsby hes gats the guy that dropped out of school and took the dirty way to achieve the idea of success. He was looking for away to easy money. Since he was not born into money he had to do something and I guess to live up to this alter ego Gatsby, he couldn't go to school and be a janitor that was beneath him. So to get to where he is in the book he had to do illegal things not something a smooth gentlemen would do and defiantly not something he wanted to do he was embarrassed by the fact that he dropped out of college and the fact that he wasn't born into money, he was embarrassed by what he had to do to get that money and he tries to hide it through out the book. to me this is not the idea of an American dream because you would want to be proud and happy with your accomplishments and success in life and this is something he was not.

Why did he do this? i asked my self this well reading the book. I found that he was doing this all for daisy. but love has nothing to do with money. so this lead me to believe everyone’s morals where thrown out the window. there were many times were I found this to be true. one being that daisy didn't want to be with Gatsby until he had money meaning she was a gold digger and when off and married tom who had plenty of money. but one of the charters that really took me by surprise when it came to morals was tom. tom was a rude and arrogant man who cheated on his wife. He i believe him to be racist and sexist because of the comments he made through out the book. The thing I found really interesting about him was when daisy started to have an affair he made a big deal but he found it OK for him to do so. But not only the rich peoples morals where thrown out the door but even the poor. Myrtle is married to the charter named George. she is the one that tom cheats on daisy with. Myrtles husband runs a rundown garage and trys to make money for myrtle. But myrtle wants to be rich it seems and she seems materialistic and almost like shes using tom just as he is using her. The idea of the American dream is filled with morals and respect for one and other and marriage with out affairs but as you see this is not true everyone wants something or someone else and it seems they have no problem breaking there bonds between one another to find what they are truly looking for.

This brings me to the emptiness that I believe each character exhibits. They never reach that one thing that they are all looking for and in search of all along. And in order to obtain this American dream you have to reach that feeling of happiness and I don’t believe any character actually did that at all seems like they were lost and had no idea what the American dream actually was or is and were masking there true feelings with materialism and some form of argent's and morl less actions. No one ended up happy if they didn’t get shot or ran over they were sad and lonely and all that they had left were the materialistic things that they thought made them happy but I think that after something like this they would begin to realize how empty they are. this is another aspect that leads me to believe that in "The Great Gatsby" it shows alot of areas that are corrupted based on the American dream.

Optional assignment

this professional exapmle is great it has helped me come up with knew way to tell a story using pitures they used pictures and under each one there writting and they have a next botton so that you can keep going in order of how they want to tell you information and if you want to go back you can do that to. i really like how that was displayed and i would like to do mine like that. there wasnt any one place that i really liked but what made it so good was that they talked about what you were seeing in the picture and then gave you facts that you cant see in the picture like for one image it said The Emperors huddle together to protect themselves from the extreme cold of Antarctica and then it goes Scientists warn that global warming could put the magnificent birds at the risk of extinction by the end of the next century. see so it says what you see and then goes on with facts and i think thats a good way to write captions and my article.

the seaweed rebals help stop pollution by mankind. intersting facts are that we are effecting the water creatures communication with sound pollution by the navy and boats and other noise polution. The bigger issue in this article is a lot of pollution is created by mankind and a lot of it can be minimized or even stopped. this is useful becuase im doing how boats have an effect on water polluton and sound pollution is one way.
2. The current event you picked for Blog #23. Include a link to the actual news story and a sentence or so that summarizes it. Post one unique & interesting fact, idea or quote that is useful for your project.
hybrid boats something intersting about this article is "When they run low, a gas generator kicks in. Even then, the system uses half the fuel (about three gallons per hour) and spews half the emissions of other wakeboard-ready motorboats, since the generator only needs to rev high enough to recharge the battery, not to move the drivetrain itself." this helps my project becuase its a solution to the problom.
3. An interesting current event you found by reading a classmate's blog. Include a link to the actual news story and a sentence or so that summarizes it. Post one unique & interesting fact, idea or quote that is useful for your project.
mariyah had an intersting article about oil spills even though she did not add the link she talks about some intersting stuff about how oil spills pullout. o can use this becuae boats use oil and they have spills.

4. A brand new current event that you just found that is interesting and useful for your MSB project. Include a link to the actual news story and a sentence or so that summarizes it. Post one unique & interesting fact, idea or quote that is useful for your project.
Train, Boat Diesel Engines Source of Deadly Pollution this article helps me to understand how deadly some of the pollutions can be from diesel engines this sentance from this article really struck me "but regulations for ships and trains are lagging behind." this lets mme know boats need to step up there game i can use all of this for my project.
5. Another brand new current event that you just found that is interesting and useful for your MSB project (yes, this time you are finding two new current events). Include a link to the actual news story and a sentence or so that summarizes it. Post one unique & interesting fact, idea or quote that is useful for your project.
this is about how boats paint is a pollution that is pointless and can easaily be stoped and this article is taking about what they are doing to end it. this helps becuase its right on topic to answer my question.

#23Environmental Current Events

this is a boat that was created to have least exhausted and pollution just like the hybrid cars its a hybrid boat. the most important thing I'm taking from this article is that this is one way to help stop pollution of boats and on oil in the ocean another thing that is very important is that its silent which stops noise pollution so this boat is a very good solution for pollution. so info that is missing that i would have liked to be present is why are we in need of something like this and how much it is actually helping pollution and cutting the affects. this plays in to my msb work because this is one was we can help reduce the affects.

#21 the great gatsby

Gatsby and Nick are both somewhat detached from their surroundings. Compare and contrast this sense of detachment. How are they similar and/or different in this respect?
well they both don't really get close to anyone like they know people but they aren't like really close with them. and they both seem like they don't keep up with the gossip and whats going on almost if they don't really care but how they are different is that Gatsby is like really cool and knows alot of people and throws all these party's and you would think he would be attached to his surrounding and nick doesn't really know anyone so that's why he may be so detached.

the great gatsby

Who is the narrator? Describe his perspective, biases, character traits, etc.
the narrator is nick carroway and he doesn't seem biases he basically states that hes not on the first page his basic background and character traits this far in the book are he comes from a family that is some what wealthy.he comes from a good school yal and he is working to be a bond trader which makes alot of money.

2. What do you think F. Scott Fiitzgerald accomplishes by chooses this specific narrator versus another choice, such as a different character or 3rd person?

i think that they choose him for a narrator because he doesn't judged or state an opinion. I think this is a good choice because then you get to make your own opinions and meet the characters how they really are instead of how he thinks they are.

#16 commnets and ideas

From (mariyahs blog post #14), it has made me think more about the animals and the people interacting together at first i was just thinking about one or the other but her page got me thinking i can find how they both come together and create pollution.http://msdanaej.blogspot.com/2009/10/blog-14-msb-questions.html

from (Audrey's blog post #15) it got me thinking i should start choosing a beach because her answers are very specific and clear as to what beach she wants to do and what questions she is thinking about and i can use her blog to help me think more in depth for my questions.
http://hthmaadle.blogspot.com/2009/10/blog-14-and-15.html

from (madisons blog post #14) it has helped me to expand my ideas to what effects dirty water may have to humans and before i was just thinking about what effects human have on water.

News & Articles On Air, Land And Water Pollution Causes, Effects And Solutions
this article was helpful in that it told me what were some big effects on water like Bacteria from sewage, poison from fertilizers and pesticides have seeped from the soil to reach water sources. Drilling for natural gas this gave me an idea of where to start looking.

this article has gaven me a more exact answer for what is the main cause of water pollution. not only that but after it gives me the cause it talks about ways to clean up our water and that would help to answer my subquestion.

this image was very clear as to what it was talking about and i liked the image beucase its touching becuase of the little aniamal so it will make people want to change.

Personal statement

Dear....

In my quest to locate a position for my junior year internship, I've determined the goal I desire most is to acquire a position within a company that offers travel to students. This is important to me for many reasons! I have a love for different cultures and experiencing new environments and customs. I would like to help other people find their love for traveling and have the best experience possible through good planning.

I feel I have an array of skills that would benefit One World in hiring me as an intern. I am excellent in communicating with people and I have great leadership skills. For instance, I was School President at HTMMA in my 8th grade year. I've also been activities leader for my current employer, The Picnic People and I've always loved speaking with and to large groups and also one on one with individuals. I was also recently offered a position as manager of my former volleyball team, however I declined due to the extensive travel requirements. In all of my jobs and rolls of leadership, I have always given my very best in that I am always on time, ready for working, and prepared to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I feel my leadership skills come in handy in my previous positions because it is my nature to look at each situation that arises and find a solution for getting the task accomplished. If a problem arises, I remain calm and ready to find a way to correct the issue at hand.

I'd also like to point out that my academic achievements have been consistent and recognized. I realize that I may not always understand everything presented by my instructors but I consider myself a life long learner and I look to them for their direction in my pursuit of success.

Your consideration of me, as an intern at One World, is truly appreciated. I know, without a doubt my own travel experiences(through One World) combined with my work ethic and skillset will make me a great asset to your organization. I look forward to an opportunity to meet with you and discuss when I might bring my talents to your workplace.

Tierra Willis

my final draft

The War That Never Ended

In the article “Dying For Dixie” Tony Horwitz quoted David Westerman saying, “they say that the war ended a long time ago. But around here its like it’s still going on.” I believe that the war is still going on in some parts of the south for many reasons some elements that might contribute to theses issue are the society they live in, the government in the south, and the education board in their towns. It also has a lot to do with not being exposed to all different kinds of people. A lot of the racism that still exists in the United States has stemmed from the civil war that I believe never really ended.
The culture in some parts of the south seems to provide evidence for why racism is still an issue. In the article “Dying For Dixie” it talks about how the rebel flag has a significant value to their culture and beliefs and for that reason it has been past through generations. For many years the blacks in their communities have kept quiet however they have broken their silence. When Kim a black mom from the article says “ Back then, parents told you to sit your butt down, work hard and keep your mouth shut around white people” Shanekia her daughter shook her head and said “ we ain’t going to just take it like our parents did I keep telling my momma times have changed” which is a good thing to try and make change after all these years but you have these white people who have been taught that this way of life is the right thing creating a conflict between the two races. One part of the article says, “ Brenda had given Michael his first rebel flag as a child. Michael was raised with that flag, just like my own son,” “its just part of life.” This flag seems to still be a big part in a lot of the white peoples lives and in order to get past the civil war people need to stop flying the flag as if the war is still happening.
A part of me believes that so many of the white people in the south are scared of change. Not only because they like being the higher class, when really they don’t have much of an education but also because they are scared they might be put in the same place the blacks were put for so long. They want to keep them oppressed because if they rise who knows what they will do maybe they will treat them the way that they were treated. This is their way of thinking as shown in the article, “they want the best jobs, the biggest money now they want this.” if we lose the mascot, it’ll just be a matter of time before we lose everything.
Religion can be a big part of the way someone lives their life and in some parts of the south they bring race in to religion. In the article someone asked, “What must I do to be saved” the church is handing out pamphlets supporting the KKK. If someone wants to be saved they have to basically be races. These people believe what they are told. They don’t look into information they are given they just listen. What gives me reason to believe this is in the article one women said “I need to know the whole book of knowledge. Like if asked, why do we hate jews? I didn’t know before, but I found out. It was jews that put Christ on the cross.” They just go on in life never questioning anything.
The other point displayed in the article is “he told me he’d only begun flying the flag since Michaels death. “One goes down, two fill his space. This to me is saying, your not going to stop us, we are just going to make things worse for you now. It’s like a war that was quiet for a while, but needed another trigger to bring out all the anger and hatred they obviously still have. I believe racism has a lot to do with level of education. I believe education can affect ones outlook on life. These people never succeed to their fullest potential and for that they blame others and walk around with this hidden anger that they want to take out on someone, here is a race that have already been a target for hundreds of years, why stop now they do this to make themselves feel better. Maybe the white people in this article don’t feel like they can succeed and since they can’t succeed then neither can anyone else. I believe that this attitude and lack of education can be the cause for why things have never changed in the south. I think if people had more respect for themselves they might have respect for others. Also, I think if we can stop this cycle of bad habits or beliefs being passed on, over time things may change.

Pollution

http://www.naturalnews.com/001698_oceans_pollution_blue_movement.html

This article that I found talks about a group called the Seaweed Rebels that is working to help stop pollution by mankind. This article points out a couple of the many things humans do to destroy our ocean and other body's of water on earth. The issue in this article is we are effecting the water creatures communication with sound pollution by the navy. The bigger issue in this article is a lot of pollution is created by mankind and a lot of it can be minimized or even stopped. that's if people like seaweed rebels work to find solution to this over all problem. To find more info on this topic you can google water pollution or get hands on and test water and find what is in the water and try to trace it back to where the pollution is coming from to take action.
This being said it connects to our class because that's what we are doing we are taking water samples and observing and testing it to find what is in the water. I would say it ties in to media saves the beach in a huge way because it points out some of the key problems for you already and now you have an idea of what your looking for or what might be creating the problem.

Final Piece

The Way It Is

"The past should stay in the past ". That's what Keyshia Cole lived by. She didn't let her past destroy her future. Your past can sometimes follow you but it’s up to each individual to determine if they’re going to let there past control their future. I decided that I was not going to let my past determine where I was going in life when I moved to San Diego.

San Diego opened many doors for me. I know now that I have been given the opportunity to change this harsh cycle of people not succeeding in my family. I need my past to make me stronger not weaken me I know this is up to me to change. I want to look at my family and the mistakes they have made to make sure I don't make them. "What won’t kill you will make you stronger" keyshia Cole didn't let anything hold her back. She had a choice she could have followed her mom on a path of drugs and negativity but she looked ahead. That’s what I’m doing. I have taken what I know and I will make the best out of what I was given to work with. Education is important to me because many of my family members never took advantage of school. I have made a decision to finish high school and further my education in college. This is first of many steps to change my family. The thing that is admirable about Keyshia Cole is even when she made it big she didn't forget about her family or where she came from. She helped them to achieve their dreams she gave them hope. I hope that I can be an inspiration to further generations of my family to do well and follow their dreams.

Not only has Keyshia Cole inspired me to continue my steps to change but she has influenced me to not only think about how can I help myself or my family but how can I change someone else's life while following my own dreams. She continues to go back to her community to talk to the young people. Even though I don't plan on speaking to my old community. I do plan to give back to the community in another form like community service.

If you can imagine it you can create it. If you can dream it you can be it. Said by Ward William Arthur. Stay determined and don't let anyone tell you, you can't do something and you will succeed in what ever your heart desires.

Reflection

during this project i discovered that i do a lot of the things that we should avoid in writing like ings.I'm also not very good with punctuation. As we learned more about writing through out the project i noticed a improvement in my writing i started to fix my old habits. one writing technique that i used was the loop or intros and outros.. this helped me to organize my writing and helped me to make sure my ending was strong and left the readers thinking. the effect that it had on my writing was it seemed more professional not so much like an amateur writing piece. if i had one more draft i would work more on the supporting paragraphs because i felt they could have been stronger and i could have added more detail. If you can imagine it you can create it. If you can dream it you can be it. Said by Ward William Arthur. Stay determined and don't let anyone tell you, you can't do something and you will succeed in what ever your heart desires. i feel like this is the strongest part of my writing because not only does it rap up my whole idea but it leaves the reading thinking about what this quote means and how can they apply it to there own life.

the way that i took this picture doesn't really allow me to make it how wide it needs to be because i took the picture with the camera to the side so it only allows me to make it really long what should i do?

feedback

today I have received some pretty good feedback. the feedback was organize your family history and keyshia cole better because it was confusing to the reader and they gave me an example like when i talk about my family relate it back to the icon in some way.

second draft

"The past should stay dead". That's what Keyshia Cole lived by. She didn't let her past destroy her future. Your past can sometimes follow you but its up to each individual to determine if their going to let there past control their future.

"what wont kill you will make you stronger" keyshia Cole didn't let anything hold her back. she had a choice she could have followed her mom on a path of drugs and negativity but she looked ahead. that's what i'm doing. I'm taking what i know and trying to make the best out of what i was given to work with. education is something many of my family members never took advantage of. i have made a decision to finish high school and further my education in college. This is first of many steps to change my family. the things that is admirable about Keyshia Cole is even when she made it big she didn't forget about her family or where she came from. she helped them to achieve there dreams she gave them hope. i hope that i can be an inspiration to further generations of my family to do well and follow there dreams.

Not only has Keyshia Cole inspired me to continue my steps to change but she has influenced me to not only think about how can i help myself or my family but how can I change someone Else's life while following my own dreams. she continue going back to her community to talk to the young people. even though i don't plan on speaking to my old community. i do plan on giving back to the community in another form like community service.

If you can imagine it you can create it. if you can dream it you can be it. said by Ward William Arther.stay determined and don't let anyone tell you, you can't do something and you will succeed in what ever your heart desires.

texture: this makes the image more real and in the image im doing i have like a brick wall behind me so i probably want some texture.

focus: Ithink this well be good for my image because i need to stand out from everything so the focus need to be on me and not like in the back ground plus i think every image needs a main focus.

contrast: I want to use contrast to make sure all my colors are standing out. this just shows all the strong colors that come out when putting these colors together.

American Icon

Keyshia Cole represents determination and strength. She has over came the odds of someone born in the streets of Oakland. Instead of turning to drugs or following the foot steps of her mom. Her persistence to fight for her dreams brought her to were she is today. Keyshia Cole is looked up to for being real and bringing hope to people who have less opportunities. The lyrics in her songs reach out to a wide variety of people. If she didn't really go through everything she talks about it would take away from her music, this is the real that a lot of people connect with . Keyshia Cole has a powerful voice that gets her message across. She never forgot where she came from and still goes back to speak to the young people in her community. This is something that is really important to her because she understands a lot of there story's and she wants to let them know that they just have to fight and don't let anyone tell you, you cant do something.

her story really inspires me because I was born in Oakland. Even though I moved to San Diego at a young age a lot of my family lives there and a lot of the issues my family dealt with in Oakland still followed me. Even more than this she is someone who came from nothing and worked her way to the top. Her show "the way it is " was the number one viewed show on bet history. Her show is real and inspirational i suggest checking it out.

Oprah represents a powerful intelligent women . She has a powerful presents and when she speaks people listen. whats really important to Oprah is bettering peoples lives. On her talk show the "Oprah show "she brings people from all walks of life to share their story. Some sad some inspirational the one thing those people will walk off the stage with is something that will better there life maybe a quote, money, job etc. When she has one of her shows she not only impacting the person on stages life but the audience as well. This is what truly inspires me that she changes so many peoples lives within a hour segment. I believe it is an inexplicable reward for a person to know that they are changing someones life for the better. Something that you will notice reading this blog is all of these people I will write about have came from nothing meaning they weren't born in to money, and their rich and famous lives were not handed to them. they didn't have a lot of support but they all made it to the top. They all had the determination and self confidants to fight for what they wanted.

actor/producer Tyler perry has a truly inspirational story. He represents a survivor. He went from homeless to the big screen. The truly inspirational part is how he did it. He wanted to write his own scripted and act in it too. He tried to find someone to produce it but everyone would turn him down. They would either want to change a lot in his scripted or they would say no one wants to watch a Christan movie. This is when he decided he was going to do it him self. Long story short his first film was sold out and had high ratings. In his comedy there is always a bigger picture. its not just another comedy it always has meaning. Not only has he made a numerous amount of films, he also has a TV show. Even more then that he wanted to take it to the next level so he bought and made his own studio making him the first black man to own his own filming studio.

What inspired me about him is one he came from nothing but even though he knew what he wanted to do and he wasn't going to let those big time producers stop him. It inspired me that after he was already on a role with his movies and acting career he didn't stop there. He took his talent to the next level and bought his own studio. the studio is in ATL if you ever want to check it out.

Back to School!

In this upcoming year, I hope to gain a better understanding of American history. I hope to learn about our past so that I have a better understanding of the future and the world around me. I also want to learn more about writing so that my writing skills will expand.

My goals for this year are to become more organized and to prepare myself for college. What I hope to accomplish and learn from my experiences in humanities is different writing techniques and styles that will help me excel in life. I know writing is one of those skills that is needed and that can have a major impact on the college you get into. History is another subject that interests me. I would like to learn about things that America has overcome or changed.
